DESCRIPTION: Nepenthes burbidgeae is a spectacular species from the open mossy forest of Mt. Kinabalu and Mt. Tambuyukon in Northern Borneo. Lower pitchers can get to 20 cm high and 10 cm wide. Upper pitchers are generally smaller, and more delicate in appearance. This species grows rapidly in the right conditions. LOCATION BorneoELEVATION: 1200-1800 metersCULTIVATION Having a lower altitudinal range, this plant is much more tolerant of warmer temperatures than some highland species, but will not survive long if treated as a lowland plant. It has a habit of not growing much at all for months, maybe even years if conditions are not favourable, and then the leaves will suddenly triple, or even quadruple in size, and the plant is on its way.
